Why do I have limited access to my student's college records when I'm paying his/her college expenses? In an effort to comply with FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act ) regulations a school must:

• Have consent prior to the disclosure of education records;
• Ensure that the consent is signed and dated and states the purpose of the disclosure.

Review the FERPA information available on the Office of the Registar's website. FERPA is enforced by the U.S. Department of Education.
